It wasn’t the high-flying blowout that was expected, but Oklahoma eventually built a sizable lead over Baylor, outlasting the Bears, 27-14. Oklahoma’s defense continues its stellar play, holding the Bears offense to just two touchdowns.
Oklahoma’s outstanding defensive line play has been one of the major storylines in Norman this season. Following a painfully long streak of below-average defensive efforts, Oklahoma seems to have really found a groove under second-year defensive coordinator Alex Grinch.
While the blowout result is not totally unexpected, Oklahoma’s last two meeting with Baylor were quite a bit more competitive. The Sooners managed a 25-point comeback in Waco last season before holding the Bears off in overtime in the Big 12 Championship Game.
While many expected a more lopsided final score, Oklahoma cannot be disappointed in what’s ultimately a dominating defensive performance paired with a slow but ultimately productive day on offense.

I find it refreshing that Oklahoma's defense can carry its offense for the first time ever in my 30s.
