How Twitter is celebrating Kyrie Irving’s birthday

Monday marks Kyrie Irving’s 28th birthday. Oddly enough, he shares this day with former Nets guard Jason Kidd.

Ever since 2002, March 23 has been recognized as the birthday of one superstar Nets point guard: Jason Kidd. Although he was born in 1973, he didn’t join New Jersey until 2001-01. But now, March 23 now marks the birthday to two superstar Nets guards, the second being Brooklyn’s current point guard, Kyrie Irving.

Of course, Kidd and Irving were born a few years apart — 19 years to be exact — but it’s still quite the coincidence that the Nets’ new top guard shares his birthday with the last guard to lead the franchise to the NBA Finals.

While most have made sure to wish Irving a happy birthday, at least one Nets fan made sure to wish both guards well.

But the primary focus on Twitter has been Irving.

Both Bleacher Report and Ball Is Life made it a point to highlight just how much Irving has accomplished on the basketball court despite only being 28 years old.

Roc Nation, the agency that represents Irving, shared an impressive image — one of several that have been posted:

The NBA kept things simple:

But most of all — and to no one’s surprise — Irving’s handles are being praised on his big day.
