Tiger Woods’ first round at the U.S. Open ended with a costly blunder, but he’s not out of the tournament yet. Woods shot a 3-over par 73 on Thursday at Winged Foot Golf Club, carding an ugly double bogey on his final hole of the day, and will start his second round eight shots behind playing partner and leader Justin Thomas.
The course should get even tougher throughout the week, so if Woods can keep his scores close to par, the field could come back to him.
Tiger Woods will tee off at 1:27 p.m. ET on Friday in a group with Justin Thomas and Collin Morikawa.
There is televised coverage from 9:30 a.m. ET to 4:00 p.m. ET on Golf Channel. Coverage will then shift to NBC through 7:00 p.m. ET.
