Race cars will be on the track this weekend at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and the coronavirus pandemic and resulting schedule shuffle has allowed for a interesting IndyCar-NASCAR doubleheader at the famous track.
NASCAR’s Cup Series drivers will race in the annual Brickyard 400 on Sunday afternoon (4 p.m. ET, NBC), following a doubleheader of races on the Indianapolis road course on Saturday.
The IndyCar GMR Grand Prix will begin Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET on NBC, with Will Power on the pole. The race is the second of the year in the 2020 IndyCar season, following the delayed season opener at Texas.
After that race concludes, NASCAR’s Xfinity Series will run the road course at Indy in the Pennzoil 150 at the Brickyard, which begins at 3:00 p.m. ET on NBC. Tony Stewart was initially planning to run the race, but has pulled out.
