The Thunder finally got a win in Game 3, forcing overtime with some final-minute craziness involving turnovers, a potential Steven Adams injury, and a nice Chris Paul pass to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
In overtime, James Harden fouled out and Oklahoma City outscored the Rockets 15-3 to get the 119-107 win. Four Thunder players scored 20 or more points, and Dennis Schroder led the way with 29.
First two games of series
The Rockets rolled in Game One, winning 123-108 as James Harden had 37, Eric Gordon had 21 and Jeff Green had 22 off the bench. Danilo Gallinari had 29 for Oklahoma City, but Dennis Schroder and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander combined for just 15 points.
The Thunder made it a contest in Game 2, leading after three quarters. Gilgeous-Alexander bounced back with a 31-point performance, and Lu Dort’s return from injury helped limit James Harden to 21 points, well below his average.
But the Rockets took over in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Thunder by 14, and gave Oklahoma City a 111-98 defeat.
Injury report as of Sunday night
The Thunder injury report said “TBD,” and head coach Billy Donovan said Sunday afternoon that Adams’ status was unclear.
Houston’s injury report lists Russell Westbrook as out, according to The Rockets Wire, but that is not an official declaration. Decisions sometimes change on game day.
