Last matchup between the two

The Thunder’s final completed game of the season was against the Celtics. After falling behind by 11 at the half, Oklahoma City mounted a third-quarter comeback and took the lead in the fourth quarter, holding on to win 105-104.

With 14 seconds left in the game, the Celtics had a one-point lead and possession. Dennis Schroder converged on the ball handler in the backcourt to help Chris Paul and came away with the steal.

Schroder made the go-ahead layup and the Celtics failed to score on their final possession.

Celtics’ season

The Celtics, 43-21 on the season, enter the bubble as the third-place team in the Eastern Conference three games behind the Toronto Raptors.

Boston has started to see the true potential of its young core this year.

Jayson Tatum made his first All-Star game and exploded late in the season. From Feb. 1 through March 11, his 29.2 points per game was fifth in the league and he shot an astounding 46.8% from 3.

The rest of his stats were well-rounded, with averages of 7.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.1 blocks per game.

Jaylen Brown also started to turn a corner into potential stardom as an All-Star contender, and Kemba Walker was an All-Star while Marcus Smart continued to contribute in the ways that make him so impactful, from defense to energy to playmaking.

The Celtics lack the size of other elite teams, but Daniel Theis has been a reliable big for Boston.
