LSU’s women’s basketball team has responded well since a frustrating road loss to No. 1 South Carolina spoiled its perfect start.
The No. 5 Tigers (25-1, 13-1 SEC) have won their last two games against Ole Miss and Florida by a combined 20 points. Now, they have a chance to clinch the No. 2 seed in the SEC Tournament — as well as match the best regular-season finish in program history — as they enter the final week of the season.
But to do so, the Tigers need to win their final two games against Vanderbilt and Mississippi State. First up, they’ll draw the Commodores on Thursday night in Nashville.
Vandy (12-16, 3-11 SEC) has struggled this season and lost by 25 points to LSU back on Jan. 1, but the ‘Dores have been playing a bit better recently. They’ve won two of their last four, including a 22-point win over Kentucky on Sunday.
“They are playing at home, and they are playing good,” coach [autotag]Kim Mulkey[/autotag] said in a release. “They are playing confident right now.”
LSU will look to keep up its winning ways on Thursday night and avoid adding a second tick in the loss column. Here’s everything you need to know to follow this one, which tips off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville.
