Expectations are sky high right now for the UNC men’s basketball team.
The Tar Heels are ranked fourth in the country right now, looking every bit of a Final Four team. They’re dispatching opponents with ease, playing their signature brand of high-flying offense and earning national recognition with their defense.
RJ Davis looks like one of the country’s best players, Armando Bacot is playing like his old self and UNC’s transfers, led by starters Harrison Ingram and Cormac Ryan, are providing valuable veteran production.
There’s just one problem – a rejuvenated Wake Forest team stands in Carolina’s way.
The Demon Deacons have a top-50 scoring offense, led by transfers Kevin Miller and Hunter Sallis. They’ve come back to earth recently, losing two of their past three, but they’re not far removed from a 9-game winning streak.
If you want to watch North Carolina-Wake, it’ll be at 7 p.m. ET on Monday, Jan. 22. This will be another good test to see how good UNC is, though we’re all convinced they’ll be playing deep into March.
