The LSU Tigers are 9-0 and are off to their best start since the 1999-2000 season. LSU will be looking for their tenth win of the season Tuesday against Northwestern State Demon. The Tigers are ranked No.19 in the AP Poll and No.20 in the Coaches poll.
The Demons snapped a six-game losing streak by beating Dallas Christian 89-68. Northwestern State is coming in with a record of 2-8, and this game likely won’t be very competitive.
These two teams have met 13 times since 1925. LSU owns the all-time series 10-3, having not lost to the Demons since Feb. 12, 1926. It isn’t very likely that Northwestern State will get their first win over LSU in almost 100 years. The teams last met in the 2019 campaign, the Tigers won 109-59.
Kendal Coleman is the Demons’ top player as he leads the team in points (15.9) and rebounds (7.6). He will likely have his hands full with LSU big man Efton Reid down in the post. LSU is led by Tari Eason with his 15.6 points per game. He has put up at least 20 points in three of the last four games. Darius Days leads the team in rebounds with eight per game.
