Chicago (7-6) and Green Bay kicked off the NFL’s 100th season at Soldier Field. The Packers, who lead the all-time series 98-95-6, won that matchup 10-3 in what was quite a defensive battle. Now it’s Week 15. The Bears are holding onto playoff hopes and face a must-win NFC North contest on Sunday vs. Green Bay at Lambeau Field.

The Bears have won three straight games and quarterback Mitch Trubisky is throwing the ball effectively. In last Thursday night’s contest against the Cowboys at AT&T Stadium, Trubisky completed 23 of 31 passes for 244 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 63 yards and one touchdown. That’s the offensive production that was lagging the first time these two teams met. David Montgomery carried the ball 20 times for 86 yards, the second-most of the 2019 season. This is welcome news for a Chicago team that is ranked near the bottom in most offensive categories.
While the Bears offense has struggled this season, it’s the defense that has carried them. Opponents are scoring an average of 17.8 points per game, the fourth-fewest in the NFL. Linebacker Roquan Smith leads the team with 101 tackles, while Khalil Mack has 7.5 sacks on the season, which makes for a formidable duo in the middle of the defense. Much like Dallas, Green Bay can beat you in either the pass or the run game.
Green Bay has won its last two games, including a 20-15 win over the Redskins at Lambeau Field last weekend. Aaron Rodgers completed 18 of 25 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown. It was only the third time Rodgers threw for under 200 yards this season. Aaron Jones carried the load with 16 carries for 134 yards, one touchdown, and a game high 58 yards receiving. The Packers find ways to win and with the Vikings hot on their heels in the NFC North and the Bears playing for a playoff berth, they will need to continue to pound the rock and wear down Chicago’s defense.
Defensively for the Packers, can they pressure Mitch Trubisky and force him to turn the ball over? Against Washington, they tallied four sacks, one interception and held the Redskins to 291 yards of total offense. Blake Martinez led the team with 10 tackles, while Adrian Amos was all over the place with seven tackles, one sack, and one interception.
