If you’ve been thinking “there aren’t enough video games where I can team up with my friends and shoot some stuff,” I have some good news for you! Amazon’s first major video game release, Crucible, launched on Wednesday in North America.
What is Crucible? It’s a free-to-play, team-based hero shooter currently available only for PC on Steam. This isn’t a straightfoward battle royale game – though there is a battle royale-inspired mode – but instead something closer to the likes of Battleborn. There are 10 heroes to play as at launch, each with their own playstyle. You can get an idea of what’s going on and a feel for the cast in this overview, or check out some Twitch streams.
As with all major releases, you might experience some issues on launch day as people rush to get into the game.
Launch Update: Soon North American players will be able to download and play Crucible, and other regions after that. We'll update you here and discord https://t.co/t39ToGN1Bo. Thank you for your patience.
