Penn State defeated Boise State 31-14 in the VRBO Fiesta Bowl, advancing to the semifinals of the College Football Playoff.
Much like they did against SMU in the opening round of the CFP, the Nittany Lions jumped out to an early lead against the Broncos and never looked back.
Penn State is headed to the Capital One Orange Bowl where they will take on the winner of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, either Notre Dame or Georgia, in Miami Gardens, Fla. on Thursday, Jan. 9.
