With NFL owners having voted to accept the new proposed collective bargaining agreement, we are one step closer to having a new CBA before the start of the league year on March 18th.
The next step in finalizing it is getting the players to agree to the terms, and that vote will be had on Friday.
The biggest of the terms include a 17th regular season game, one less preseason game, and expanded playoffs that will add one more team in each conference, with only the No. 1 seeds getting a bye.
Of course, there’s no guarantee that the players will agree to this CBA, and if Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt‘s negative reaction to it is any indication, the players accepting it is no foregone conclusion.
Hard no on that proposed CBA.

Should this or any other proposal go through before the new league year, it would hurt the Titans in a significant way.
Normally, teams can use one of the two tags available, whether that be the franchise or transition tag. However, should no new CBA be agreed upon before the new league year, teams will be able to use both tags in 2020.
The Titans have at least two players in running back Derrick Henry and quarterback Ryan Tannehill who could receive either tag, and there’s also a chance that right tackle Jack Conklin could get tagged.
If general manager Jon Robinson planned on using both tags, that plan would go out the window if the a new CBA is agreed upon before March 18th.
Having just one tag available would limit the Titans’ options in keeping their biggest free agents, and that would make an already challenging offseason even more difficult to navigate.
