How the the Saints, Rams and Eagles can fix their salary cap issues

The Saints, Eagles, and Rams have some tough decisions to make over the next week.

It took until the very last second, but the NFL finally announced the new salary cap figure for the 2021 season. Due to financial ramifications from the pandemic, the salary cap is just $182.5 million this season, a far drop from the $198.2 million for the 2020 season.

According to Spotrac, 10 teams are slated to be over the new salary cap figure. That’s not that surprising, but a few teams are in worse shape than others.

The Saints, Eagles, and Rams are all at least $25 million over the $182.5 million salary cap. They only have a week to get under the salary cap before the new league year begins on March 17 and it’s time to sign free agents.

Here are a few moves that each team can make to get underneath the salary cap.
