How the Kristaps Porzingis trade can make Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown better

“Porzingis will definitely add an element to the offense,” explained Gary Washburn.

The Boston Celtics’ decision to swap Marcus Smart for Kristaps Porzingis may have been a painful one for fans to deal with, but it is also a trade that could have many positive effects on the Celtics’ quest for a title.

That was the topic of a recent episode of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast. Hosts A. Sherrod Blakeley, Gary Washburn and Kwani A. Lunis reflect on how the deal might make Boston better.

“Porzingis will definitely add an element to the offense,” Washburn said. “He’ll stretch the floor, make things easier on Jayson (Tatum) and Jaylen (Brown).”

“He’s a post-up guy, too. He can shoot over anybody. He’s a good midrange shooter and that’s what they need … so I think he’ll fit.”
