Now that his indefinite suspension is over, Browns defensive end Myles Garrett is back with the team and in the NFL’s good graces. Garrett’s suspension cost him quite a bit. And now that it’s over, we can tally up exactly how much the indefinite suspension for striking Steelers QB Mason Rudolph over the head with his own helmet cost Garrett.
Garrett was suspended for the final six games, and those games were not paid per the terms of the suspension. That cost No. 95 a cool $1,139,912 in salary from the missed games.
He was also fined $45,623 for the personal foul penalty and ejection at the end of the Week 10 game. That brings the total $1,185,535 in money lost by Garrett. He did not miss out on any contract incentives.
Garrett had two other fines for personal foul penalties earlier in the 2019 season. Those cost Garrett $52,639 on top of what he gave up for the incident in the Steelers game, pushing his total lost from the past season over $1.23 million.
