The 18-year-old forward put on a clinic in the opening half against Virginia Tech on Tuesday night, connecting on a pair of 3-pointers (and drawing a foul on the second) to ignite a 17-2 Duke run. He only missed twice from the floor before the break, and he created six baskets for his teammates throughout the night as a facilitator.
Flagg’s two-for-four night from beyond the arc offers promise for the Cameron Crazies. The first-year star hasn’t been shy about pulling from downtown this season, but he entered Tuesday’s game shooting just 20% (4/20) over the past six games. If that improved form becomes a staple of the Duke offense, no one in the country can keep up with the Blue Devils.

Flagg finished with 24 points, his fourth time breaking the 20-point barrier in Duke’s last six games. He made nine of his 14 shots, his most efficient game of the year, and added six assists, four steals, and three rebounds.
