Miami Dolphins’ 2019 season

The Dolphins started the season with two huge blowout losses and didn’t look like they would win a game. They steadied the ship a bit and finished the season 5-11. They performed well against the spread, going 9-7 ATS and also 9-7 against the Over/Under.

Miami Dolphins’ 2020 offseason changes

Miami went out and made big changes to the roster. They spent big money on CB Byron Jones and LBs Kyle Van Noy and Shaq Lawson in free agency and added RBs Jordan Howard and Matt Breida.

In the draft, they selected QB Tua Tagovailoa (Alabama), OL Austin Jackson (USC) and CB Noah Igbinoghene (Auburn) in the first round.

Projected wins: 6 / OVER: -150 / UNDER: +125

Miami drastically improved the talent on the roster, and the defense will be better in head coach Brian Flores’ second year. They have two capable running backs on offense and already have pass catchers. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick will give them a steady veteran presence at quarterback until Tagovailoa is ready to take over.

They play a last-place schedule in a division that is a bit up in the air. The Patriots lost key players and have had many opt out of the season. The Bills are good, but the Jets still don’t look like they are ready to be more than middling.

I think the Dolphins will be sneaky competitive this year. Take the OVER 6 WINS -150.

Exact season wins: Bands

0-4 wins: +350

5-8 wins: -304

9-12 wins: +600

13-16 wins: +8000

The heavy favorite is for the Dolphins to win between 5-8 games at -304. They will be better than last year, so the question is whether they get to nine wins or not. They aren’t there yet. There is little value, but the only bet you should make is 5-8 WINS (-304).

Exact wins: Best bet

The shortest odds for exact wins is six wins at +260, followed by seven wins at +300. They should be able to win three games in their division and pick up wins against the Bengals and Jaguars. They will almost certainly pick up two wins elsewhere along the way. My pick for the Dolphins is SEVEN WINS +300.
