The outstanding play of Boston Celtics reserve forward Grant Williams this postseason is likely going to put the Tennessee product in line for a big paycheck either this offseason when he becomes extension-eligible for the Celtics or the offseason after next season when he becomes a restricted free agent. And it isn’t just front offices taking note of the Charlotte native’s growth as a player on both ends of the court.
His excellent defense and ability to help contain Giannis Antetokounmpo is helping keep Boston in their East semis series with the Milwaukee Bucks, a role he played in the first round against the likes of Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant. And his 3-point shooting has been a blessing on a Boston roster that needs shooting if it needs anything.
The eponymous host of NBC Sports Boston’s “Forsberg’s Four” segment Chris Forsberg dedicated his weekly show to Williams this week in a similar vein; check out the clip embedded below to hear what he is loving about the former Vol’s game of late.
