How far did Clemson football plummet in new US LBM Coaches Poll after nightmare loss?

Here’s how far Clemson dropped in the new US LBM Coaches Poll, released Sunday following the Tigers’ loss to Louisville.

The Clemson Tigers suffered a 33-21 upset loss to the Louisville Cardinals  Saturday night in Death Valley, snapping a six-game winning streak for Cade Klubnik, Phil Mafah, T.J. Parker and crew.

As a result, the Tigers (6-2 overall, 5-1 ACC) saw a big drop in the new US LBM Coaches Poll rankings, released Sunday after Week 10’s action. Clemson fell nine spots from No. 8 last week to No. 17.

The Tigers suffered the biggest drop of any ranked team in the coaches poll after allowing Louisville to rush for 210 yards and score 26 consecutive points at one point in the game. Dabo Swinney said the Tigers were poorly coached and did not deserve to win.

Within the ACC, the Miami Hurricanes (9-0) remained the league’s highest-ranked team after their 53-31 win over the Duke Blue Devils on Saturday. Miami rose one spot to No. 4 in the coaches poll. The Texas Longhorns (7-1) climbed one spot to No. 5.

Elsewhere in the ACC, the SMU Mustangs (8-1) were one of the biggest risers in this week’s poll after their 48-25 win over the previously unbeaten Pitt Panthers (7-1) in Dallas. SMU climbed five spots to No. 15 while Pitt dropped six spots to No. 23.
