How does Tom Nolan prep as UFC 305’s biggest betting favorite? With a plan to back it up, of course

Australian lightweight Tom Nolan is as much as a 14-1 betting favorite at UFC 305 in Perth.

PERTH, Australia – [autotag]Tom Nolan[/autotag] met the media Wednesday ahead of his fight at UFC 305.

Nolan takes on Alex Reyes in a lightweight fight on the ESPN preliminary card at RAC Arena in Perth, Australia. At media day in Perth, Nolan took questions from media members before his fight.

Nolan (7-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC) is a massive favorite of around 12-1 against Reyes (13-4 MMA, 0-2 UFC) at most online sportsbooks, and can be found with odds of as much as -1400 with the comeback on underdog Reyes at upwards of +750.

A number like that makes Nolan one of the heaviest UFC favorites in history, and he’s planning something heavy to go with it in front of his home fans “Down Under” – all while preparing as if Reyes will do the same.

“I’m expecting him to come out pretty sporadic,” Nolan said at Thursday’s media day. “He’s 0-2 in the UFC, so I think he knows he’s got to pull something out of the bag. I’m ready for everything. I’ve trained like I’m fighting Superman, like I’m fighting a god out there. No matter what the odds say, no matter what anyone says about how this fight is going to go, I’m just treating it like he’s the best in the world, and I’m going to go out there and be better.”

In May, Nolan was a 5-1 favorite against Victor Martinez and backed it up with a first-round knockout. That put him back on track after an upset loss in his UFC debut in January.
