The past four years of San Antonio Spurs basketball have been disappointing, to say the least. After two decades of success, the Spurs have been on the opposite end of the spectrum. They’ve missed the playoffs for four seasons in a row, which marks the longest drought in franchise history. But it was all worth it.
Because of their lack of success, they were able to select Victor Wembanyama with the first pick in the 2023 NBA Draft. And in addition to having one of the greatest basketball prospects of all time, they also have a nice group of youngsters to back him up. Guys like Devin Vassell, Jeremy Sochan, and Sidy Cissoko are interesting names to watch.
