How did Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka do in his first season on the job?

Given he came in fourth for Coach of the Year, probably not too bad.

In his first season as the head coach of the Boston Celtics, head coach Ime Udoka has taken a club stuck around .500 with a roster far better than such a record to the NBA Finals after one of the more dramatic in-season turnarounds in the history of the league.

Using his emphasis on accountability and trust, he improved not only the storied franchise’s winning percentage for the 2021-22 season but their defense, passing, and scoring capabilities in the process after a rocky start had some fans questioning whether the hire by new President of Basketball Operations was the right one.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “A-List” podcast recently took a look back at how Udoka did with the Celtics in his inaugural season with the team as its coach.

Check out the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about the first-year coach’s performance.
