Kingsbury’s Arizona Cardinals finished 5-10-1 in his first season on the job, but things seem to be trending up in the desert.

Kyler Murray improved throughout the year under Kingsbury’s defense. Arizona hung tough in arguably the best division in football and gave teams a run for their money on a weekly basis. You can’t ask for much more from a young group with a rookie head coach trying to find his way.

If Arizona’s defense improves, Kingsbury could have the Cardinals in contention as soon as next season. Either way, he improved with each game. The Cardinals should be extremely encouraged by that.
