Once the premier attraction among all of the annual NBA All-Star game special events, the league’s dunk contest has grown a bit stale, with a lot of retro dunks being re-attempted by a new generation while few new twists get added to the game.
Controversial scoring in recent years has also not helped the cause of keeping the dunk contest relevant, leading to all sorts of suggestions on how the NBA might breathe new life into one of the historically most important parts of All-Star week festivities. To explore this line of thinking, ESPN’s “Courtside Club” with host Rachel DeMita linked up with NBA host and entrepreneur Christian Crosby.
