In conjunction with Friday’s release of the 2021-22 NBA regular season schedule, the Rockets also announced a four-game preseason slate. Assuming health, those games will be the first opportunity for fans in Houston to see the team’s talented 2021 draft class — headlined by rookies Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun — in person at Toyota Center.
The Rockets will host Washington and Miami on Tuesday, Oct. 5 and Thursday, Oct. 7, respectively. They will then finish the preseason at Toronto on Monday, Oct. 11 and at San Antonio on Friday, Oct. 15.
The home games will be televised by local television partner AT&T SportsNet Southwest. TV information for Houston’s closing preseason games on the road has yet to be released, presumably because those will be run through broadcasts in those markets.

It’s another shorter-than-usual offseason for the Rockets, since the NBA is taking steps to move back to its traditional October-to-June calendar for games. Each of the last two seasons had later end dates, due to the four-plus-month disruption of the 2019-20 season from COVID-19.
With the preseason starting in early October, that will almost certainly mean a start to 2021-22 training camp in late September.
