House of the Dead is coming back in a big way for Nintendo Switch this spring.
Announced early last year, House of the Dead: Remake (yes, that’s what it’s called) updates the classic light gun shooter from 1998 in several ways. It’ll have better graphics, new motion controls, and additional story elements. Standard stuff for any remake, though at least we know this isn’t just a high-resolution port.
On Friday, developer Forever Entertainment announced that House of the Dead: Remake will come out for Nintendo Switch on April 7, 2022. There’s also a new trailer that captures all the b-movie nonsense that the original game is well-known for, so check it out below.
Forever Entertainment is also remaking House of the Dead 2, though the studio hasn’t talked about it since the initial announcement years ago.
The Switch’s spring lineup is looking pretty good between House of the Dead: Remake, Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers Edition, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
