Hot rumor features Browns trading back with the Broncos, who might be interested in moving up from 15 to 10 to land a WR

The days leading up to the NFL Draft produce scads of trade rumors and hot takes every year. When they become pervasive enough, it’s worthwhile to at least consider the possibility and the merits of the rumored trade.

Two big rumors surrounding the Cleveland Browns and trades are making the rounds. One involves WR Odell Beckham Jr. and the Minnesota Vikings, a projection widely shot down by credible media voices from all sides.

The other popular rumor is a draft-day trade with the Denver Broncos. Several in the Denver-area media, as well as former Browns GM Michael Lombardi, have reported the Broncos are looking to move up and the Browns make a ton of sense as a landing spot.

This one would indeed make sense for both sides. The Broncos currently sit at No. 15 and are widely projected to be interested in taking a wide receiver. Two WR-needy teams, the Jets and Raiders, pick at 11 and 12, respectively. Hints and suggestions about the Browns being willing to move back a few spots are everywhere, too.

Does it mean it’s going to happen? Of course not. But it’s an interesting idea that has some realistic merit to it and one that GM Andrew Berry and his Denver counterpart, John Elway, would be smart to strongly consider.
