In desperate need of a victory, Terry Rozier and Miles Bridges closed out the Cavaliers on Friday in the fourth quarter to secure a 108-102 win for the Hornets.
With the two sides level heading into the final frame, Charlotte separated themselves from the lowly Cavs behind Rozier and Bridges as the duo scored the final 13 points of the game for the Hornets. The latter’s 3-pointer with 1:31 left put the hosts up 105-95 and served as the proverbial dagger.
Prior to their late-game heroics, it was P.J. Washington that served as the catalyst for much of the night as he, too, chipped in 25 points to match Bridges and Rozier for team-high honors.
Collin Sexton and Darius Garland led Cleveland with 28 and 27 points, respectively.
