Hornets star Gordon Hayward to make return in road matchup vs. Sixers

Charlotte Hornets star Gordon Hayward is set to return against the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday.

The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set to return home on Saturday afternoon and play host to the Charlotte Hornets in a matchup the team needs in order to move forward and get back on track.

The Hornets will enter the contest with a 40-36 record and are in a 3-way tie with the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks for the No. 8 seed in the East, but they are a talented bunch who will give the Sixers some trouble.

The last time the Sixers and the Hornets matched up was back on Jan. 12 when the Hornets came away with a 109-98 win over the Sixers. The leading scorer for Charlotte was star forward Gordon Hayward who went off for 30 points to go along with seven assists and three steals.

Hayward then suffered an injury in February and he hasn’t played since Feb. 7. However, he is set to make his return on Saturday against the Sixers.

With Hayward’s return, that is another piece that the Sixers will have to worry about next to LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. This will be a test for coach Doc Rivers and the rest of the team to bounce back from a bad loss on Thursday to the Detroit Pistons.
