Charlotte looked well on their way to a comfortable blowout win behind a huge night from Malik Monk before the Heat had a huge comeback in the second half to make the game interesting late.
A big shot from Terry Rozier down the stretch and enough timely free throws secured the victory on the night and gave the Hornets the season series over Miami, who sit two games back of Charlotte.
Monk had 32 points off the bench while Rozier added 26. Devonte’ Graham added 16 and Gordon Hayward 11.
