After missing the last five games for the Charlotte Hornets, rookie P.J. Washington is probable to play Friday night against the Oklahoma City Thunder, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer.
Washington underwent successful surgery on Dec. 16 to address a fractured fifth finger on his right hand after injuring it against the Chicago Bulls three days prior. The Hornets initially ruled Washington out through Christmas Day.
Washington told reporters last week that the injury has been frustrating since he was unable to practice with the team but added that it has given him a chance to learn while sidelined. Should Washington return on Friday, head coach James Borrego did not anticipate him having a minutes restriction.

Prior to the injury, Washington had started all 28 games for the Hornets and looked to be a bright spot for the team. Washington is averaging 12.3 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, connecting on 41% of his 3-point looks to this point.
