The Charlotte Hornets finally have their big man of the future.
With the No. 15 pick in the 2022 NBA draft, the Hornets selected Duke center Mark Williams.

This has seemed like a match made in heaven for months as Williams has been projected to land in Charlotte in just about every mock draft since the end of the season.
Williams brings a high motor on both ends to the Hornets, who can immediately be an elite rim-runner alongside LaMelo Ball while feeding on the glass and blocking shots with his 7-foot-7 wingspan.
The Hornets land Williams following their trade of Jalen Duren to the Detroit Pistons, who they selected with the No. 13 pick.
In his sophomore season at Duke, Williams averaged 11.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks per game.
