Charlotte Hornets rookie Brandon Miller threw out the ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday for the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
Miller, who was joined by teammate James Bouknight, was on hand to watch the Knights host the Nashville Sounds at Truist Field. He took the mound wearing a No. 24 jersey and delivered the offering to starting pitcher Garrett Davila. The toss looked to be off the plate.
With the No. 2 pick in attendance, the Knights fell to the Sounds in 10 innings, 9-6. The Knights dropped to 49-91 and lost their fifth straight game.
“It wasn’t a strike” — Brandon Miller just said.
