The Brooklyn Nets have been trying to make the team as competitive as possible over the course of this offseason now that the organization is moving forward following the trades of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. While the franchise is trying to make moves to balance out the roster, they will make trades just for the sake of them.

According to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype, the Nets have been receiving offers for forward Royce O’Neale, but they have been unwilling to accept offers that give them less than the value of a first-round pick in return. Last offseason, Brooklyn traded a 2023 first-round pick to the Utah Jazz, Utah used that pick to select Brice Sensabaugh, for O’Neale.

Not only has O’Neale been a valuable player during his six seasons in the NBA, including having his best statistical year last season for the Nets, but he also has just one year left on his contract at $9.5 million so he has some value as a cheaper contract that expires after this upcoming season. The Nets do not seem opposed to keeping O’Neale for this season either so it may be a situation where Brooklyn plays the waiting game when it comes to trading O’Neale.
