Without Steph Curry (shoulder) and Andrew Wiggins (adductor) due to injury, Jordan Poole answered the bell for the Golden State Warriors on Christmas day in a playoff rematch against the Memphis Grizzlies.
The 23-year-old guard fueled the shorthanded Warriors on the way to an upset win over Ja Morant and the Grizzlies at San Francisco’s Chase Center on Christmas day.
Poole led the Warriors with 32 points on 11-of-25 shooting from field with three made triples on 10 attempts from deep. The Michigan product added three rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes.
Despite leading the Warriors in scoring, Poole’s night came to an end early on Christmas. With 9:20 remaining in the fourth quarter, Poole received his second technical foul of the game, resulting in an ejection. Sunday’s contest against the Grizzlies marked the first ejection of Poole’s career.
