The Chargers are getting creative to start the game.
With a run game that’s looked stagnant without Austin Ekeler, LA elected to put rookie wide receiver Derius Davis in the backfield, as they have on select snaps throughout the first few weeks.
They pitched the ball to Davis on a designed run, who got into space as if he was returning a punt. He evaded multiple tacklers on the run, eventually gaining 51 yards and putting the Chargers in plus territory.
