Todd Gurley spent the last five years with the Rams, playing in both St. Louis and Los Angeles. On Thursday, he was cut by the team that drafted him 10th overall in 2015, ending a spectacular career with the Rams.
The football world was stunned by the Rams’ decision, but Gurley didn’t have the same reaction as many of his teammates and fans. He seems to be in good spirits, sharing a funny tweet about being fired on his day off.
Damn I got fired on my day off😂 #QuaratineAndChill

He later tweeted that it’s all business and isn’t taking the move personally.

Gurley will go down as one of the best players in franchise history, racking up 5,404 rushing yards and scoring 58 rushing touchdowns. He led the NFL in touchdowns in 2017 and 2018 and is ninth among all active players in touchdowns.
He’s sixth all-time in franchise history in rushing yards and is tied with Marshall Faulk for the most rushing touchdowns ever by a Rams running back.
