Here’s how LSU can clinch the SEC West

Here’s how LSU can wrap up the division race on Saturday

LSU’s win over Alabama put the Tigers in control of the SEC West, but the Tigers’ trip to Atlanta isn’t set in stone just yet. LSU will travel to Arkansas this weekend, where a clinching is possible, but we won’t know until later in the day.

LSU needs to take care of business against the Razorbacks, then root for Alabama to beat Ole Miss. The Tide and Rebels are set to face off in the 2:30 p.m. CT slot on CBS.

If Ole Miss were to win, LSU would need to wait another week. Ole Miss and LSU each have one conference loss, with LSU holding the tie-break. Alabama has two SEC losses, so the Crimson Tide would need LSU to lose both of its remaining conference games to have a shot at the division title.

Alabama and LSU are both favorites this week, so it would not be surprising to see LSU put a bow on the division title race on Saturday.

It would be LSU’s first trip to the SEC title game since 2019, where LSU beat the Georgia Bulldogs on its way to a national title. Georgia will likely represent the east again this year.
