To anyone who’s been paying attention over the past year or two, it’s obvious that the transfer portal is an essential part of team building in college football. Like it or not, the best teams will capitalize on the wellspring of talent that is the portal and players will use it to seek the best situation for themselves. For the Gators to reach their competitive potential under head coach Billy Napier, they’re going to have to embrace this reality.
Fortunately for Florida, a busy transfer portal means the team can expedite their way to being serious contenders without needing to wait for their young talent to develop into serious weapons. Combine savvy recruiting skills and a little luck, and they can quickly infuse the roster with talent.
