Here are the best Twitter jokes about the new Captain America from ‘Falcon and Winter Soldier’

Spoilers if you haven’t seen the show!

Spoiler Alert: If the headline didn’t tip you off, this post has several spoilers for the first episode of Disney+’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.  If you have not yet seen it, and want to be surprised, please leave this article open in a tab and come back after you’re done streaming.

The first episode of Falcon and Winter Soldier drops viewers right into a post-Endgame world and boy do things look different. Sam Wilson has given up the shield because he thinks himself unworthy of the mantle Steve very much wanted him to have, and Bucky Barnes is a guilt-ridden mess, sleeping shirtless and sweaty on his living room floor. Things are bleak, but as the end of episode one showed us, about to get bleaker.

You see, Sam gave up the shield because he thought it would be housed in the Smithsonian, as a memorial to Steve’s legacy. Welp, it turns out that some shady politicians actually gave it to some doofus (John Walker, according to the credits) because the country needed a symbol. Well, as Sam said earlier, symbols are nothing without the people behind them.

The episode ended on the cliffhanger of some random new white guy being introduced as Cap and uh, let me tell you, people on the old Twitter machines are hot. Here are the best jokes, because this dude deserves to be mocked.

Anyway, here’s a picture of the rightful Captain America SAM WILSON to get that mess out of your head.
