Kirk Herbstreit was at Notre Dame on Saturday morning for College Gameday but didn’t stick around for the game as he had other broadcast commitments.

Regardless, he saw enough of Notre Dame’s thrilling comeback win over Clemson to move the Irish up in his weekly top six rankings.

You may remember last week that Herbstreit didn’t have Notre Dame in his top four, but that’s not the case anymore as only Alabama checks in above the Irish who he ranks second.

Ohio State and Clemson round out his top four while Florida and BYU are his fifth and sixth ranked teams.

The win over Clemson was Notre Dame’s first over a top ranked team since they beat Florida State in 1993 and was their first win over a top five squad since Brian Kelly’s arrival in 2010.
