During a red carpet event for The Witcher Season 2, Henry Cavill expressed some interest in a silver screen adaptation of Red Dead Redemption.
A brief interview with GameReactor reveals that Cavill recently began playing Rockstar Games monumental cowboy simulator, and he’s eager to see what that world could be like on film.
“Well, that’s a tricky one because you’re tying both an IP and a company together, which is a tricky thing to do, so I certainly don’t want to put myself in any corners with that, but there are plenty of games out there,” Cavill said. “I’ve actually started playing Red Dead Redemption 2 (I know I’m a little bit late to that party) but I started playing it and I’m really enjoying it. And so, something like that I think would be fun to turn into a movie”.
Cavill knows how to do fictional characters justice. At least we thought he did as Geralt of Rivia in Season 2 of The Witcher.

Anyone all caught up on the series might want to look at our explainer for the finale. Bit of a head-scratcher, that one.
Cavill also recently expressed interest in the rumored Mass Effect TV series. There is still no official word on that yet, though some former Bioware staffers aren’t big on the idea of an adaptation.
