Trask truly put up video game numbers this year — especially before his performance tapered off in the Cotton Bowl against the Oklahoma Sooners — while leading his team to a New Year’s Six bowl game for the third time in head coach Dan Mullen’s three years in Gainesville. He is in line for some serious hardware for his individual accomplishments and the accolades have been pouring in as the season neared its conclusion.

Mullen offered the following sentiments after the Cotton Bowl loss.

“I’m really happy for him. I mean, you’re talking about a young guy that is came in, I think only played a couple plays in his career before he even graduated college. Didn’t play much in high school. And now he’s a Heisman Trophy finalist, and he’s going to be an NFL Draft pick.

“So, that says a lot about him.”
