As the Miami Heat held their first practice on Friday at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida, the team did so without rookie Kendrick Nunn and All-Star Bam Adebayo.

Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra said that two players were excused from participating but declined to name those individuals. However, it was veteran Goran Dragic that spilled the beans later on during his media availability on a conference call with reporters.

“Hopefully, Bam can come and K-Nunn and we can be a whole team and make some damage,” Dragic said.

The Heat had three players test positive for the coronavirus but Derrick Jones Jr. was the only one that agreed to allow the team to release the results of his test. Spoelstra, citing medical privacy rules, declined to offer additional information.

Nunn and Adebayo emerged as two key players for the Heat this season. Nunn has solidified himself as a possible NBA All-Rookie selection while Adebayo was named an All-Star for the first time this season in his career.

The Heat will begin the season restart on Aug. 1 vs. the Denver Nuggets.
