Miami Heat veteran Andre Iguodala sees great things in the future for rookie Tyler Herro based on his work ethic and his drive to want to be a great player in the NBA.

In fact, Iguodala believes it is that drive that separates Herro from other players. The ability to be a hard worker, according to Iguodala, is something that you can’t necessarily teach but Herro has demonstrated that he has that factor about him, as Iguodala said on Friday.

I was actually talking to a former co-worker from a former team and we had a whole conversation about him and I said, ‘This kid wants to be great.’ That’s something you can’t teach. You can’t teach somebody to have that drive and set really high goals and go at them every day.

If he has a mistake particularly with a part of his game, he’ll actually work on that. We see him with these left-handed passes across the court or a right-hand pass under the basket and that’s something he has worked on. … I just see a guy that wants to be great and will work at it and has a ton of potential. We all know what he can do.

Herro has been often praised for his hard work this season from his teammates. All-Star Jimmy Butler has become Herro’s biggest fan this year and has a lot of confidence in his rookie teammate as the two have become close friends this season.

Iguodala went on to say that Herro is constantly working on elements of his game and focuses on the areas that can be improved. The hard work Herro has put in is showing on the court and a reason why he is playing meaningful minutes in the playoffs.

Herro is averaging 15 points, four rebounds and 3.5 assists in the Heat’s two playoff games.
