Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro will not play Monday night on the road against the Golden State Warriors, according to Ira Winderman of the Sun-Sentinel.
The 13th overall pick has missed the past two games for the Heat with an ankle injury. Herro originally suffered the injury on Feb. 3 against the Philadelphia 76ers and has since been seen in a walking boot on the team’s current six-game road trip.
The Heat are hopeful that Herro can play at some point during the road trip but head coach Erik Spoelstra said last week that the team wants to make sure the ailment doesn’t become a long-term issue.
Jimmy Butler (shoulder) has been upgraded for tonight vs. Warriors (I expect he plays). Tyler Herro (ankle) and Meyers Leonard (ankle) remain out.

Prior to suffering the injury, Herro had missed just three games this season, two due to a knee injury and one for a sprained ankle. In 46 games played, Herro is averaging 13.1 points, four rebounds and two assists.
Herro was recently selected to play in the NBA Rising Stars Game during All-Star Weekend though he ultimately may not be ready to play in the event on Friday.
Herro leads all first-year players with 99 made 3-pointers.
