Miami Heat rookie guard Kendrick Nunn will not play on Monday night against the Orlando Magic due to an Achilles injury, the team announced prior to the game.
Nunn was listed as questionable to play against the Magic with Achilles soreness after sitting out on Friday night against the Los Angeles Clippers. The two games are the first Nunn has missed all season.
The Heat have not commented on his injury and it is unclear when Nunn initially began experiencing discomfort. Without Nunn, the Heat lost to the Clippers, 122-117.
Prior to the injury, Nunn had played well as of late for the Heat.
Over his last five games, Nunn is averaging 22.4 points on 51.7% (15-of-29) shooting from 3-point range. That stretch includes a 33-point performance on Jan. 15 against the San Antonio Spurs.
#ORLvsMIA INJURY UPDATE: Bam Adebayo (ankle) and Goran Dragić (calf) will be available to play in tonight's game vs the Magic.
Jimmy Butler (ankle) is questionable. Kendrick Nunn (Achilles) has been ruled out.
