The No. 7 Virginia men’s basketball team hosted Boston College in Charlottesville on Saturday, but at times, it felt more like a coming out party for UVA first year Ryan Dunn.
At 6-foot-8, the New York native brings an athleticism to the Cavaliers that probably hasn’t been since De’Andre Hunter in 2019.
Dunn only took two shots in the first half against the Eagles, but he made both — and in emphatic fashion with two monstrous dunks. For the first dunk, Dunn floated through the air after a miss from teammate Isaac McKneely from deep. While the first dunk was impressive on its own, the call by Bally Sports commentator Eric Collins could not contain his enthusiasm. Yes, that’s a “WOOO!” you’re hearing.
Think Eric Collins enjoyed this putback slam from Ryan Dunn? 😆@UVAMensHoops | @Almighty_ry3 pic.twitter.com/oHczHsm11q

Dunn followed with an even more impressive dunk on the fast break and a block in transition going the other way.
