The Boston Celtics inched a little closer to completing their roster for the looming 2023-23 NBA season.
Yahoo Sports reporter Chris Haynes reports “Jay Scrubb, his agent Corey Marcum of EZ Sports and (the) Boston Celtics have reached an agreement on a two-way contract.”
Scrubb is a 6-foot-5, 22-year-old shooting guard who has played for the Los Angeles Clippers and Orlando Magic in similar capacities between 2020 and 2023 after being drafted out of John A. Logan College by the Brooklyn Nets with the 55th pick of the 2020 NBA draft.
The Louisville, Kentucky, native has averaged 4 points and 1.5 rebounds per game at the NBA level, averaging 41.6% overall and 31.3% from deep over that stretch.

Scrubb’s standout play in Las Vegas Summer League earned him the offer from Boston to provide a modicum of deep wing depth with some potential to perhaps develop into a rotation player.
